sherpas where people who lived at the mountain and helped the mountaineers who climbed everest carry their stuff. fact: seventy five people have died on everest fifty six of them were sherpas
A sherpa is a person who acts as a personal guide and luggage carrier for you while climbing Mount Everest. They can be of any age, even twelve years old! (As seen on the Surviving Mount Everest video).
Sherpas do not recieve much credit, only the actual person climbing does, which most people find un-fair.
Sherpas are often poor people, who only climb Mount Everest to recieve money to pay for food and shelter.
Sherpas also risk their lives climbing Mount Everest, their wives and children are always worrying about them, some children have never even seen their father, as he perished from climbing the fierce mountain.
The people of Mount Everest have their 'god' or as they call her, 'goddess' in which they believe that she guides them climbing the mountain.
Without sherpas, it would be almost impossible to climb Mount Everest, so I believe that they should recieve the most credit, not just the person who hires them to do practically all the work.

Great comments! I can see that the two of you have been listening in class :)
they where the most experienced climbers they help the climbers with their luggage/bags and where the most strongest climbers
the name 'Sherpa' is often put in front of their real name
e.g. Sherpa Elyse
I will NEVER be a Sherpa! :D
